Double Opt-In Verification Setup
Protect your sender reputation and comply with GDPR/CAN-SPAM by enforcing 2-step email confirmation on your lead capture forms.
Double Opt-In Verification Setup
Double opt-in ensures that new subscribers explicitly confirm their email address before receiving marketing campaigns, maintaining high domain reputation and virtually eliminating bounce rates and spam traps.
How Double Opt-In Works in MANZA
- A visitor fills out an opt-in form on your site.
- The contact is created with status `PENDING_CONFIRMATION`.
- MANZA automatically sends a verification email containing a secure 1-click confirmation link.
- When the subscriber clicks the link:
- Their status changes to `ACTIVE`.
- They receive assigned tags and list memberships.
- Any welcome email or WhatsApp drip sequence is triggered.
Enabling Double Opt-In on a Form
- Open Marketing Suite > Forms and edit your form.
- Under Opt-In Settings, toggle:
- Mode: Select `Double Opt-In (Recommended)`.
- Select your Confirmation Email Template:
- Choose a pre-built template or customize the body text.
- Include the
{{confirmation_url}}merge tag inside your call-to-action button. - Select your Sending Identity:
- Choose your verified custom SMTP sender (e.g.,
newsletter@yourdomain.com). - Save your form settings.
Best Practices
- Deliverability: Keep the subject line clear and actionable (e.g., *"Please confirm your subscription to MANZA Insights"*).
- Expiration: Verification links remain valid for 48 hours. If unconfirmed, unverified contacts do not count against your email marketing quotas.
- Single Opt-In Fallback: For low-friction internal lead magnets or lead forms backed by WhatsApp phone verification, you can toggle `Single Opt-In` anytime.
