BYO Custom SMTP & Deliverability Setup

MANZA allows you to bring your own SMTP provider, giving you full control over your sending IP, deliverability reputation, and wholesale email costs.

Supported Providers

• Amazon SES (Recommended for scale: ~$0.10 per 1,000 emails)
• SendGrid
• Postmark (Industry-leading transactional deliverability)
• Mailgun / Brevo
• Custom Postfix / Private Mail Server

1. Finding Your SMTP Credentials

Log in to your email delivery service and locate your SMTP relay settings:

• Host: e.g., email-smtp.us-east-1.amazonaws.com or smtp.sendgrid.net.
• Port: Usually 587 (TLS) or 465 (SSL).
• Username / Access Key: Your generated API Key or SMTP username.
• Password / Secret Key: Your generated SMTP secret.

2. Configuring SMTP in MANZA

1. In MANZA, navigate to Marketing Suite > Email Marketing > Senders & SMTP (/app/emails/settings).
2. Click "+ Add Custom SMTP Provider".
3. Fill in your server host, port, authentication credentials, and default sender identity:
4. Sender Name: e.g., MANZA Growth Team.
5. From Email: Must match a verified sending domain in your email provider (e.g., updates@yourbrand.com).
6. Click "Test Connection":
7. MANZA dispatches an immediate test email to your account to verify authentication, TLS handshake, and deliverability.
8. Save the configuration. You can designate this identity as your workspace's Default Sender.

3. Essential DNS Authentication Records

To achieve 99%+ inbox placement and avoid spam folders, configure these records on your DNS provider (Cloudflare, GoDaddy, Route 53):

1. SPF (Sender Policy Framework):

   v=spf1 include:amazonses.com ~all

1. DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail):

Add the 3 CNAME records generated by your SMTP provider.
